Join us for the Hayward Community Garden end-of-year celebration! The garden is where we house the club apiary, but it's also a wonderful space by itself — a calm, verdant, well-used public space in the city. Check out the garden and the bees and ask questions. There will be honey tasting at noon, and socializing with gardeners after that.
Join experienced club member Greg Mau for a free hands-on activity at the club apiary! Everyone is welcome, regardless of beekeeping ability. You'll see how other people handle bees, and handle them yourself, gaining experience and confidence. Bring your questions about your hive, too!

Sung has over 80 hives himself, and also manages many clients’ hives. He’ll demonstrate both methods of checking for mites (the sugar roll and the alcohol wash), and he’ll explain how to treat for mites -- both reactively with various treatments when the count is high, and continually as part of an Integrated Pest Management system.
