The Mission of the Alameda County Beekeepers Association is to foster the education, advancement and aid of its members and the public relating to practical and scientific apiculture.  The members of the Association provide outreach to schools, an observation hive at the Rotary Nature Center in Oakland; programs to adult community groups; and honeybee swarm collection.  We give grants to community organizations that support forage for all pollinators. We tend a very popular and educational booth in the Agriculture Building of the Alameda County Fair each summer, where we display an observation hive containing a live honeybee colony!  Beekeepers are on-site to explain the details of beekeeping and pollination.
