Alameda County Fair 2025
DETAILS:
Club members: Volunteer to staff the ACBA booth at the Alameda County Fair! The booth mostly explains itself, so it’s okay for any member of the club to volunteer as long as you have at least some beekeeping experience.
Volunteers get FREE full day entry and parking pass to the fair (it normally costs $18 for admission and $15 for parking). Come before your shift or stay after your shift to see the exhibits, the vendors, the midway, the FOOD.
- Hang out with, and learn from fellow beekeepers at the booth.
- Inspire the next generation of beekeepers.
- Hand out brochures.
- Help find the queen in the observation hive.
- Look after the live bee display (basically just spraying them with water occasionally and stopping kids from bothering them too much!)
Volunteer slots are two-and-a-half hours long (plus a 15 minute overlap for the first two), and two people can volunteer at once if you want to do it with a buddy — you both get free admission and parking. Got questions about signing up? Need to cancel a slot you signed up for? You can contact Rob Mathews at webmaster@alamedabees.org.
